Thoughts on Small Business Saturday

November 30, 2013

Whether you ordered online or braved the madness of Black Friday, the Saturday after the storm still reverberates with a little bit of the energy and frenzy of the prior 24 hours. It is our hope, like that of many small business owners, that you redirect that energy to the local guys in your neighborhood. In our case, we are a brick-and-mortar and online business. We manufacture our products in-house, here in San Leandro, California. We are run by two generations of family as well as a devoted team of employees who have dedicated more than 20 years to the success of this small enterprise.

Big box stores are wonderful. They have great prices and a great selection and are easy to access. What makes us different than the bigger guys is the personalized, common touch, as well as the special, individualized and unique items that the big guys simply don't have the means to carry. Ironic, isn't it? Don't have the "means"? Yes, personalized, slow and steady service takes TIME and time, as the saying goes, is money. But for us, unless you, the customer, come away with really knowing what makes our products different and unless we have taken the time to answer product questions, then we haven't done our products or business justice.

Today maybe take some time to look at our online store, ask some questions and learn about how our small business is dedicated to helping others improve their lives through nutrition. Remember...invest in your's the most important asset you own.

Happy shopping!

Gratefully yours,

Olivia Melaugh, CIO
