What about 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate? Why don't you have this in your formula?

Methyl is the most bioavailable form of folic acid. However, we have decided not to include methyl in our folic acid formula as we have questions about its molecular stability. In addition, there are several studies which indicate that the action of 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate is not superior to that of folic acid, in fact they seem to work just as well as each other. Certain genotypes seem to prefer folic acid to methyl. As folic acid is considerably less expensive than 5-methyl we have decided to stay with folic acid until we can be sure of its superior effectiveness and stability.

Why is Intensive Nutrition's Folic Acid better?

Intensive Nutrition's Folixor™ formulas are under-the-tongue, meaning that they are absorbed bucally. Generally, buccal absorption is superior because it ensures maximum absorption. Folixor™ also contains folinic acid, the “body ready” form of folic acid which means that it is more bioavailable or better absorbed than basic folate. Folixor™ contains adjuvants Vitamin C, Vitamin B12 and Leucine which support folate activity. Liquid Folixor™ is convenient for travelers and for periodontal support, and FolicM™ has great applications for men and fertility.
