What
is Vitamin D? What is Vitamin D-3?
Vitamin D is actually a group of
fat-soluble vitamins known. Vitamin D-3 is one of these
vitamins and it is Vitamin D-3 that is made in the skin when
the skin is exposed to UVB ultraviolet light. Chemically
known as
Cholecalciferol,
Vitamin D-3 is the natural precursor of the
calcium-regulating hormone calcitriol (1,25 dihydroxyvitamin
D3).

What is the action of
Vitamin D-3?
Vitamin D-3 supports regular Calcium
metabolism by the body thereby supporting good bone density.
It supports the immune system, control cell differentiation
and muscle control.

Why is Vitamin D-3
preferable to to other forms of Vitamin D, say, Vitamin
D-2?
According to research, Vitamin D-3 appears to be much
more effective than Vitamin D-2 in the body, and, it has
longer term, beneficial effects. |

Interactions/Precautions
Vitamin D-3 may
interact negatively
with Estrogens, Verapamil and Warfarin (or other blood
thinners).
Consult a physician if using any of the above
medications or the following medications (the following
may cause D-3 deficiency): Anticonvulsants, Bile Acid
Sequestrants, Cimetidine, Colestipol, Flurbiprofen,
Gabapentin, Heparin, Hydroxychloroquine, Indapamide,
Isonaizid, Mineral Oil, Neomycin, Oral Corticosteroids,
Orlistat, Phenobarbital,Sodium Floride, Thiazide
Diuretics. This list is not exhaustive.
Consult a physician prior to adding Vitamin D-3 to your
supplement regimen.
