Viracin® contains the most powerful phagicidal and virucidal herbal tannins available, specifically Norwegian Maple fruit, Babul bark and Wild rhubarb (canaigre). Its application is to help support normal flora balance in the gastrointestine.

How does Viracin® work?

Viracin® works in the same manner as Tanalbit®: attaching to the outer membrane of the target cell (in this case bacteria) which disables the cell and prevents proliferation and growth.  Like Tanalbit® it is non-toxic with the occasional minimal side effect of constipation and/or diarrhea. If this occurs, reduction in dosage is suggested.

Viracin® is designed for use in the stomach and some areas of the GI tract only (it can NOT be used for venereal disease, herpes or diseases requiring intensive drug therapy). It does support the immune system during winter months as it prevents proliferation of bacterial organisms from the GI to the rest of the body.

Who should consider this formula?

Viracin® has applications for individuals with intestinal dysbiosis, including pathogenic overgrowth. Viracin® may help restore intestinal flora levels back to normal range by reducing pathogenic bacteria in the stomach (not the large intestine --this is where Tanalbit® works). Viracin® can be taken with Tanalbit®. Viracin® can replace Tanalbit® therapies for stomach bacteria when casein allergies are known. (Tanalbit® contains casein)

Viracin® can help scavenge bacterial and viral components and in this regard is helpful for the overall immune system. During winter months, individuals have reported feeling relief in sinus areas after taking Viracin®.

Taking Viracin® with Tanalbit®

Viracin® taken with Tanalbit® may help tackle particularly difficult cases and/or when bacteria and yeast overgrowth present themselves. Suggested dosage of Viracin® with Tanalbit®: For bacteria/yeast, do not exceed more than 9 total of both; Suggested regimen is 4 capsules Viracin® plus 5 capsules of Tanalbit® daily.

Interactions/Precautions Tannins may interfere with the absorption/effectiveness of alkaline or steroidal medications. Avoid tannins when using Atropine, Cardec DM, Codeine, Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine, Lomotil/Lonox, Loop Diuretics, Spironolactone, Theophylline/Aminophylli, Thiazide Diuretics, Triamterene.
