A safe and effective sleep-aid that
contains L-Tryptophan, GABA and Melatonin. These three ingredients work
synergistically to safely and effectively help one go to sleep and to help one
resume sleep patterns. (code#95) |
|
What is L-Tryptophan?
 |
|
L-Tryptophan is an essential
amino acid that aids in protein synthesis and is a
precursor to many compounds. Specifically, it is a
precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin (which
causes sleepiness) and serotonin, in turn, can be broken
down into melatonin.

|
What is GABA?
|
|

GABA is an amino acid
classified as a neurotransmitter, is abundantly present
in the brain, and serves as a balancer between
excitation and inhibition. GABA stimulates the anterior
pituitary gland, increasing the levels of Human Growth
Hormone in the body. HGH has anabolic and lipotropic
effects - building muscle and preventing fat.
GABA participates in promoting relaxation, which allows
one to sleep. Unlike many relaxants, it does not cause
drowsiness, just easing anxiety. As a natural
stress-reducer, GABA supplements may help support pain
reduction. They may also lessen pain-related nerve
impulses. For the brain and neural health, GABA appears
to inhibit nerve cells in the brain from firing
haphazardly.

What is Melatonin?

Melatonin is a natural substance secreted by the pineal
gland. Melatonin is recognized as a key element in
regulating the body's day/night metabolic rates. Its
secretion is synchronized with our biological clock
which dictates the daily changes upon the body's
metabolic activity: our circadian rhythms. One of its
most popular use is to help alleviate jet lag.
Melatonin is also an excellent antioxidant: a potent,
free-radical scavenger. It also reduces blood platelet
aggregation and thus provides an aspirin type of
protective effect on the coronaries, improving blood
pressure levels. Another crucial role of Melatonin is in
its maintenance of the immune system |
